Access Codes

Note: Substitute Extension Number in place of "XXX"  

Voicemail

  • *97 - Voicemail. This will directly login to the voicemail of the extension number that dialed this access code. User can also press the envelope button if their phone has one. 
  • *99XXX - “Direct to voicemail”. This will transfer a call directly to voicemail without ringing the user’s extension.
  • To check voicemail of another user’s mailbox, dial their extension number (you can also use the *125XXX shortcut). When you hear the greeting, dial * and enter the voicemail password.

Intercom/Paging

  • *XXX - intercom
  • 800 - Page all phones (Cisco only). Note that there is no leading * in this feature code
  • Polycom Page all Phones - Press Paging, Page All
  • Paging all phones, also known as Group Paging, will only work within the network that the phone is located.

Call Forwarding

  • *72XXX or *72-1-XXX-XXXXXXX - Call forwarding. Enables calls to be forwarded to the specified extension or external phone number
  • *73 disables call forward

Caller ID Blocking

  • *67-XXX-XXX-XXXX or *67-1-XXX-XXX-XXXX will mask the user’s Caller ID for that outgoing call only. The other party will see the call as private.
    • NOTE: *67 DOES NOT MASK CALLER ID WHEN DIALING 911, TOLL FREE NUMBERS, OR INTERNATIONAL NUMBERS.

Answer Other User's Ringing Extension

  • **XXX (substitute the extension number in place of XXX)

Recording an Auto Attendant (IVR) Greeting

  • *31 can be dialed from any phone within the organization. See Greetings

Do Not Disturb (DND)

  • *75 to turn on/off the Do Not Disturb feature. DND is disabled by default unless requested by a company admin to enable.

Local Calling

  • Local calling can be dialed with or without a 1. Area code and phone number is required.

International Calling

  • 011 + country code + phone number
  • Sometimes, a phone number will be given as follows: 02-6793000. The leading ‘0’ should always be left out. The number should be dialed as follows- assuming that Australia is the country code: 011-61-2-6793000.
